Robert Trent Jones, Sr. designed a golf course for a group of investors and in 1959 the New Orleans golf course Timberlane Country Club opened up. It was the first private golf club on the west bank of the Mississppi River. Since then, this New Orleans golf course designed by Mr. Jones was ranked as one of the most difficult courses in the country.
The club has bore witness to the oil boom of the 1980s, the internet bubble of the 1990s and more recently the events of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The oaks planted back in 1959 are now very large and while some of them are gone, our members remain and continue to enjoy the amenities the club has to offer. Why not make Timberlane your home for New Orleans golf?
